Donate Funds
Contributions help us provide healthy, nutritious food to those in need and supports our special community programs for children and families throughout the year. Through generous donations from our community, we can keep our doors open, our delivery truck running and continue to make improvements to our building. It all begins with your charitable contribution. Friendship House is a Section 501(c) 3 nonprofit and your donation is tax deductible.
There are several ways to contribute. You are welcome to stop by, take a tour and meet our team or you can drop your donation in the mail to us.
Now you also have the opportunity to donate online by clicking on the Donate button anywhere on our website. Our Facebook page has a Donate button and you could also create a fundraiser for Friendship House to celebrate a birthday, special occasion or show your appreciation.
Whether you choose to make a donation of $5 or $100, every cent is needed, put to good use and greatly appreciated.
Donate Food
Through our partnership with Foodlink, we use donations and grants to purchase food to stock the pantry. As a Foodlink partner, we benefit from donations of fresh produce, breads and meals directly from grocery stores in our area. Yet, there is always a need for food donations and church groups, schools, clubs and individuals can help.
Donate Time
Over 90% of the work at Friendship House is done by a dedicated team of local volunteers. The roles and tasks are many and always evolving. Volunteers make regular pick ups of food and household donations from our partner stores and then unload and stock all deliveries. As businesses are generous in their donations, it takes a team of volunteers to manage and organize donations. The Thrift Shop relies on volunteers to sort and organize donations for re-sale, keep the sales floor organized, and assist customers. Volunteers support our special events and holiday meal distributions. While we are open just three days a week, volunteers are needed every day. A Friendship House volunteer is someone who is friendly, reliable, not afraid of hard work, loves being a part of a team and believes that volunteering helps support our neighbors
Donate Goods
Our Thrift Shop sells clothing, shoes, small household goods, kitchen items, jewelry and toys. Donation of these items is greatly appreciated. All Thrift Shop sales benefit the Food Pantry.
All donated items must be useable, in good working condition and able to be re-sold. Please understand that if an item is not usable, we will decline the donation. At this time, we cannot accept books.
Donations are accepted only during our open hours. If you have a question about a donation, please contact us at (585) 554-6056.
Friendship House partners with the St. Pauley Textile Group to recycle clothing. They have a donation shed in the parking lot. Any donations dropped off to St. Pauley go directly to them and do not stay at the Friendship House.
Whatever donation you make, thank you!
