Bombas Giving Partners

Friendship House is proud and excited to announce that it has been approved as a Giving Partner with Bombas.

What is Bombas?  Bombas is an apparel company that began in 2011 and originally sold socks. They’ve committed to the “one purchased - one donated”  philosophy with their core mission of giving to the homeless, in-need and at risk communities. Every  Bombas customer helps put thoughtfully designed, essential clothing into the hands and onto the feet of those in need.

Bombas had the lofty goal of donating one million pairs of socks in their first ten years.  They reached that goal in half the time and as of 2022, Bombas has donated 75 million essential clothing products.

Bombas partners with organizations large and small to distribute donations to those in need.  An organization applies to Bombas to become a Giving Partner and then is reviewed and vetted by Bombas based on the core purpose of the organization and how that compliments the Bombas Mission.

In May of 2021, Friendship House Thrift Shop Manager, Cathy Guattery learned about the Bombas Mission and felt that it was similar to the goals of Friendship House:  to provide for  those in need.  She completed and submitted the application to become a Giving Partner and hoped for the best.

Friendship House was notified in December 2022 that they were approved as a Giving Partner and would receive a shipment of socks  for donation during 2023.    Since that time, plans have been made to get this great donation to the men, women and children  in need in the community.

“We are very happy to have been accepted in the program and we’ve received the Bombas donation of socks for 2023. We will be setting up dates throughout the year to get them to people in need”, says Cathy Guattery.   One of the first occasions that the Friendship House team gave out socks was at the Foodlink Food distribution at Marcus Whitman School on January 24th.   A whole team from Friendship House was on hand to give out the socks and people were really pleased and appreciative.  Friendship House continues to live their mission: helping people in need; this time with the support of and partnership with Bombas.
