The Friendship House family is saddened to learn of the passing of Tony Durant on April 26th.  Tony was a long time volunteer and Board Member at Friendship House and will be in our hearts forever.  In recent years, having stepped back from his volunteer role, he visited often to catch up with his friends.  Many times his visits would coincide with the home-cooked meals our volunteers took turns making to feed the crew (in his mind, the spicier the food the better he liked it!).  So happily, we would share a plate and a chance to chat.  Tony took a genuine interest in others. He never missed an opportunity to say hello to everyone and ask about family or grandchildren; everything from interests to music lessons.  He was a gentle soul who truly believed in helping others and bringing smiles to those he met.  Tony generously shared his time, talents and kindness with Friendship House and we will miss him greatly.
